InShape T.E.D. (Thrombo-Embolus Deterrent) stockings are firm, white, graduated compression garments designed for non-ambulatory, bedridden, or post-surgical patients to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
They apply highest pressure at the ankle, decreasing up the leg to improve blood flow, and are generally worn 24/7, removed daily for skin checks.

Function: Increases blood flow velocity by acting as a pump, reducing blood pooling in the legs.

Design: Typically white, made of firm elastic, available in knee-high or thigh-high lengths.

Graduated Compression: The compression level is specifically engineered to be tightest at the ankle and looser toward the thigh.

Usage: Used for patients with limited mobility (not for active, walking individuals).

Duration: Often used for roughly 3 weeks post-surgery or until mobility returns to normal.
Fitting: Must be sized correctly by nursing staff to avoid pressure ulcers or ineffective treatment.

Important Considerations:
Should not be used for patients with severe peripheral vascular disease, dermatitis, or severe edema.

Safety: Always wear non-slip footwear over them, as they can be slippery.
